Eulogy

Usually long silences mean that life is going well for someone…

My silence is fueled by shame.. At what again I find myself in the midst of.. I apologize to all those here that have supported and been my friend. I find myself ashamed to even post here..

Hopefully one day I will return.

Two of the two dozen
new finches
fly swiftly by
chasing one another
taking turns
who is not caught…

Two Blue Bird nestlings
struggle for a turn
to peer out of the box
and pant away
the heat of this
June day.

A Mourning Dove eats
disinterested by the activity
surrounding her
never sees the hawk
swooping in from behind
silently with talons flared.

Time comes, goes, passes….
another unremembered memory.
Life wanes.
Light wanes.
Seconds bring even closer
the ending of us all.
