What I see....

A new friend shared something to me recently.. Something that has bothered me ever since. We share a common experience that no one could ever understand who has not walked that narrow hallway for themselves. Once it has been traveled, it is easier the next time, and easier the time after that. Yet it is a walk of repercussions - one where the innocent are burdened without ever understanding the reason.

It is a terrible bond to share with someone.

How do I make my friend understand that their life and mine are so very different. The things that push me are tangible and real. The things that push them, are ones that will pass in time. No matter how desperate or lonely it feels, tomorrow will bring change.

Why is it so easy to lose sight of that one simple truth?

My friend, how can I make you see in you - what I do? In so little time I have seen caring and compassion. I have seen defiance and see love. You are a gentle breeze on a spring day in a hard cold world. There are so few like you, with your gifts, your abilities.. I wish I had just a taste of the talent and humor of you. You inspire me and you inspire others. Now is the time to inspire you.

I see a million reasons for you to exist and flourish. Your world is a garden, and you a flower. At times the darkness of the past tricks you into seeing a barren desert with nothing of beauty around you. And in those very dark and stormy instants, you miss what is within you. It is there the beauty lies, within you, with all the reasons you need to live and flourish.

All that is left for you to do, is bloom.
