Just or Justice???

Foley… That is all I see and hear in the news these days.. Such a coincidence that the dirt always comes up right around election time..

But I was wondering.. I have seen people plot to kill spouses with a policeman planted as a supposed hit man. They go to jail for life for conspiracy to commit murder.

If Foley has not molested anyone but sent suggestive emails, is he guilty of anything? Some of the ones I read were gross and suggested mutual masturbation. Is he a pedophile? Should he be charged with conspiracy to become a pedophile? Is there even such a law?

Dateline has been doing a show a lot recently where people are emailing/chatting with whom they think are kids and then showing up at a house where they think their fantasies will come true. But they do not. And outside the police arrest and charge them Immediately. No one has a chance to check into a center and all of a sudden declare themselves and alcoholic.

So is Foley a pedophile? Is he a sex offender? My opinion matters not.

What bothers me are the different standards in the law. If you conspire to kill someone you go to jail. If you conspire to have sex with a minor over the internet you go to jail. If you are a senator that has evidentially been doing this for years, you simply check into a substance abuse clinic.

Something seems a little off kilter here.

Sorry for the rambling.. Slept from 4 to 10 yesterday after the injections and have not been to bed again.. Now it is 1 PM.. and I am off to bed…

Alone and without any emails from my congressman thank god…

SO is he a pedophile or a sex offender? Is the law fair in how it treats people or is defined?

Years ago a man in Baton Rouge put his kid in Karate Class. He later found out that his son was molested by the teacher who fled. The teacher was caught and extradited back to Baton Rouge where a news crew awaited his arrival. They got more than they bargained for. The boys father stepped forward from the crowd and shot the abuser in the head. He died.

The father was found not guilty by a jury of his peers. Doesn't much sound like the law was upheld..

But it sure sounded like justice..

A molested child is affected for life. And most that molest go to jail for a few years and then molest again.

The Karate Teacher will never hurt another child..

Is our legal system just?

Just more ramblings before dreams of a better day…
