Rush, Dogs, Weathermen...

It has not stopped raining since three this morning. It began as I prepared for bed. The forecast said we would have a few showers and then it would clear up this morning. Now the forecast says rain through tomorrow night.

Everyone at one time or another has bitched about the weatherman and their abilities. But truth be told it is not a science. It is a system of lucky guessing at best. Kind of like poker. You can study and know all the odds but there is one remaining factor that you have no control over and that is luck. In case of the weather I guess god has the final say what happens in our atmosphere and galaxy.

What if the people proclaiming to be experts get paid a percentage based on how close they get it to being correct. Today my forecaster would probably get 20% of his pay and that would be generous. Many more days he would be getting nothing.

So the day was spent inside. Yes I slept it away but do not feel guilty at all about it. What if each day of our lives was rated and our longevity based on the good we have done. I would have gotten a big fat zero for today. But what a concept those that did more lived longer than those that either were evil or did nothing for the world. Talk about a fair way of living!! It sadly is too often true that the good die young.

In the last month of so Sera has reverted to being an insecure puppy. Even though she is older than Bentley her whole personality has changed. She whines at the door instead of wanting to stay out and is ALWAYS coming up to be petted, to the point that if I accommodated her no one else would get any affection. Jezebel is much like a cat and comes when she wants petting. Other than that she stays to herself. Bentley comes and gets a few minutes worth and then is satisfied. But the minute either Jezebel or Bentley are near me, Sera is trying to push her way in. I don't understand this change at all since I have always been mindful of giving each the same attention, treats, privileges, etc.

Now that the weather is cooler Bentley and Sera will go outside (if I am outside) and get the zoomies in the yard. Sera runs like a rabbit, and Bentley a gazelle. It is so beautiful to watch Bentley open it up so to speak. I still feel guilty that they could have a better home and quality of life. What if I could run and play with them?

I saw the commercial made by Michael J. Fox regarding stem cell research. Then today was mortified at the comments made by Rush Limbaugh. I have always disliked Rush for he is quick to pass judgment and point out errors of man and the world - but often, too often, never has rational suggestions for solutions. What if Rush had a more positive approach to the world?

It sucks that people such as myself have to live with Chronic Pain and worry whether or not our doctor will be there next month because of people like Rush. Why was he not sentenced to jail? I would have been if you were procuring my drugs as he had others doing for him.

What if Rush did end up in Jail? For the man that mocked druggies and junkies for years it is sure an irony that when the truth was told, well he is what he claims to hate.. His abuse did more to hurt the people that need pain relief than anything else I can think of. Many more people think of my invisible disease as just another cover up for being a drug abuser because of him, his actions, his words, and the unfairness of the Justice system.

What if Rush had used the Debra LaFave defense of "I'm too cute to go to jail". It has worked for her and others, claiming they would be sexually assaulted unfairly because of their looks jail then becomes a cruel and unusual punishment. On the other side of this coin is Deanna Bobo, nice looking and also who had sex with a 14 year old student. She is serving 12 years for her crimes. BRAVO for Arkansas.

Rush said today that if Fox was not acting or overstating his motions during the commercial he apologized and that he had never seen him (Fox) act that disabled before.

What if Rush Limbaugh watched Boston Legal? Fox is a regular on there and I have seen him weaving and jerking during some of the episodes.

I started this just as a What if type thing on what is going on in my life and what I am thinking about today.. I did not mean to end this as an attack on Limbaugh. But he is really more of a damage to this country than an asset. His recent racial comments sure affirm that.

I guess maybe what I am trying to say is what makes an expert? Why do we trust and listen to those that are too often incorrect, biased, and truly ignorant at times?

I don't subscribe to Howard Stern. But if I had to listen to him, or listen to Rush, well Howard would win hands down. At least is show is amusing, albeit repetitive, and he does little harm. I sometimes wonder which of the two are the true idiot.

Maybe the dog segment no longer belongs in here. But I will leave it. For it is the one that really affects me the most. For Rush and the weather, thank god there is an off switch.
