FIND GOD here

Why

DaRk AnGel : Why Home : November 2006 : Thanks...

Thanks...

The day rapidly approaches.

I took my turkey breast out today to get it thawing. And as I did I wondered what there is to be thankful about on Thursday that is not there every day. I say thank you on a daily basis for many things.

First and foremost is god. I thank him for the breathe I just took, and realize that there are no guarantees of another.

Then there are family and friends, those that we love. Without them life would be so much harder and starker. Friends remind us in the worst of times that there are best of times, too.

I am thankful for the dogs I have for they always show me the love that I strive to be able to give. I can mess up and they never run, never file divorce papers, and never try to poison me.

I am thankful for the ability to think, feel, communicate, and touch others lives as often as they touch mine.

I am thankful for the heroes of the world. The firemen, police and the armed forces members who willingly sacrifice their lives for others - they put the world first.

I am thankful for the people who decide that giving is a way of life. Doctors, nurses, ministers and rabbis, social workers and counselors deal with stresses and situations that we could never imagine.

I am thankful that people have forgiven me in the past. Even more so am I thankful that I can forgive, and not live with festering anger and sorrow.

I am thankful to nature, for it never ceases to amuse, teach, and amaze me.

The thing I am thankful for most of all is hope. It is a wonderful ability and life saver, one without which we may exist but not live. I hope that everyone realizes that hope is such an important piece of our lives.

Even in my depressions, I find reasons to be thankful. And in being thankful I usually end up throwing myself the life line to pull myself out of the despair I have allowed myself to fall into.

So Thursday holds no real reason to be different than any other day for me. I am truly blessed. I have so much.

We all do.
