When I Love....

I can honestly say that when I have loved:

I gave more than I took without keeping score.

There were no lies from these lips at any time, about anything, but those times in jest.

I was there and still am for anyone that I have cared for
At any time
Under any circumstances
Without exception.

I have never abandoned a relationship without a truthful explanation.

I love like a parent. People change, people get angry, people go a little
nuts at times – one just has to love them enough to let them
be what they need to be
at that instant.

I have never told one person that I loved them
and slept with another.

Never have I questioned what was in my heart or what I knew about my mate
due to outside gossip or accusation.
And never have I let the accuser walk away without
providing proof for their words.

I have always loved with the success of my partner, the relationship, and myself
having precedence over anything but god.

I listen to the criticisms of my mate, and if valid work to better myself
for the sake of the union if those criticisms are correct.

I have loved as I live life – without reservation, and wishing no questions remain,
no attempts are reconciliation untried,
before quitting.

I accept that love is rare, a perfect union impossible, and that I must contribute
to the union
regardless of what life has
thrown my way.

I am proud of what I have to give
the manner that I give it
and of those that spur the emotion within.

Love truly is the meaning of this journey. We will be judged not on what we have.. But what we have given.....
